Mitzvah Day Cleanup 2026, Paramus

On November 1, our New Jersey Chapter joined Hackensack Riverkeeper for its Mitzvah Day Cleanup in Paramus, NJ. Mitzvah Day is a day dedicated to community service, and volunteers spent the morning in a wooded area off Frisch Court, using trash grabbers and bags to pull litter out of the fallen leaves and along the fence line. The cleanup is part of Hackensack Riverkeeper's river cleanup program, which brings out more than 1,000 volunteers each year and removes an average of 25,000 pounds of trash from local waterways. For our students, it was a chance to give back close to home and see how small efforts add up to a healthier watershed.
